Walking in the Bembridge & St Helens area
There are many footpaths and bridleways in the area, offering a variety of walks, across farmland, over the downs, and through woodland. Large sections adjacent to the coast / harbour are walkable at all states of tide, and as the tide goes down, even more become available.
The Isle of Wight Coastal Path runs, as its name suggests, round the shoreline of both Bembridge & St Helens.
The Culver Trail is a 3.75 mile circular walk, which should take between 1.5 and 2 hours. There are a number of stiles, and a few steep sections of this trail. The route starts and ends at Bembridge Windmill, and there are a number of information boards along the way. A walking guide to this trail can be downloaded here.
Details of a walk round Bembridge Harbour can be found here.
Guides to other walks in and around Bembridge can be found here.
During the Isle of wight Walking Festival a number of walks start in the area, see the month of May in the calendar for details.
